Ruby didn't know what was going on either. She suspected but she didn't know for sure okay that was a lie she knew exactly what was going on but what she didn't know was if it was Lucifer or the village. Either way, she was okay with it. It's been the first time since the zombie nurses that she's been allowed to have fun.

So when she caught sight of a familiar figure she hurried to catch up. Damn if she'd let anyone else play with Sam but her.

Maybe some of the instincts were dull but he still felt the tiny whisper of warning when he realized there was someone following him.

He went a few more feet, waiting till that sense got stronger, then he was spinning on his heel and lifting his gun to face whoever it was behind him.

Ruby smirked and raised an eyebrow at Sam. "Oooh foreplay." But that was soon gone when a crazed human came from around the building behind Sam.

Her eyes flicked black when she saw him. "tsk, tsk, tsk. Find your own to play with, this one's mine." The human wasn't close enough to see Ruby's eyes so they continued on their path to Sam.

"Fine, the hard way." She drew out her knife, though not the knife thanks to the other Winchester.

Sam made a bit of a face while lowering his gun at the sight of her. A part of him was relieved too. "Funny."

But then he was turning to face the crazed human when she looked past him, hesitating for a second before lifting his gun again. He didn't want to shoot an innocent but he wasn't going to let himself be infected either.

So he took a shot at their legs.
