Dec 24, 2013 09:24

Christmas was one of those times in which Mary looked forward to the most in the village. It had nothing to do with the peace that seemed to usually find its way in December, but rather, it meant the time of year in which all her family would gather today ( Read more... )

Faith had come to love Mary's get togethers and celebrations. Having a family was nice, something she was cherishing. And that she was grateful Ed could experience. The toddler was currently in the midst of all his unwrapped toys, playing with each in turn, more than a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of them.

Sipping her cider, Faith figured she out to socialize, so she started to wander the room talking to all the familiar faces.

"Ed is getting so big." Anna appeared from the kitchen after finishing the dishes. She wiped her hands with a dish towel and leaned against the doorframe between both spaces.

Faith turned, smiling when she saw Anna, "Hard to believe it's been two years already. Time flies."

"Well, you're doing a good job. He's happy." She smiled softly as she looked at the small child. "Congratulations, by the way. Dean's really excited."

Heading ducking, she smiled, pleased thinking of the bun in the oven, "Thank you. We're both very excited. Although it was a bit of a shock at first."

"I can imagine. But at least it's a good shock." Anna always looked at expectant mothers and wondered if her human mother had looked the same way.

"Do you think it will be Robbie?"

"I think so. I mean... he showed up, so it would have to be." she shrugged, looking down at her belly. "But we don't find out the sex for a while yet."

What if it wasn't? It hadn't even occurred to her.

Anna wasn't sure if the village was always accurate.

"You know... one time, then the village delivered children. I had one show up." She paused, thinking about it. "In some alternate reality I had a child with a demon. Although he was turned back into an angel when he was here."

Crowley had saved her life, among others. It still unsettled Anna.

"Yeah, I guess this place can get a little messed up sometimes, so it's hard to say. But Robbie... he felt so right, you know?" So it had to be him. If it wasn't, she'd feel like she'd lost a son, even if she'd never truly had him.

"Yeah." Anna got it. "Robbie was a good kid."

She remembered liking him a lot. "It's nice to see Dean happy, too."

She glanced in his direction.

"Yeah." Faith smiled, looking toward him too, "I guess I was a little worried at first how he might take it. But now I have no idea why I even thought he might take it badly." He'd been excited and, well, amazing.

"I think he's always wanted a family, he just never knew it." Anna knew there was a lot more to Dean than the facade he put on for most people.

She nodded, smiling a bit, "He's been wonderful with Ed. Is basically already his father. I think we both wanted a family and didn't know it. I was terrified when I was pregnant with Ed, now I can't imagine my life without him."

"I think all women are terrified when they're pregnant. Or at least I know I'd be." Anna didn't think she'd ever be pregnant though.

"At least now you know what to expect."

"Yeah, you're probably right about that." Faith agreed, then glanced across the room to where Castiel was. It hadn't escaped her attention that there was some avoiding going on there. "So... I figure this is a touchy subject, but I can't help asking. What's up with you and Cas?"

Castiel had mentioned the whole situation with Meg arriving, a while back, but Faith had assumed, apparently wrongly, that Anna and he would work past it. That Anna and Cas would stay together.

"Oh." Anna glanced to Castiel, but it was brief and she sat back a little in the sofa.

"We... I moved out." She didn't want to make Castiel come off as the bad guy although he probably could have handled the whole situation better.

"He has feelings for someone else. He says he still does for me, but," Anna paused. She thought about it again and was still certain about her decision. "Well. I think if he had to make a choice, it wouldn't be me."

Anna hadn't given Castiel a choice because she was certain guilt would play more into his decision than love.
