summer picnic of non-world specific holiday [[gathering post, timed to Saturday afternoon/evening]]
Laura is once again making sure that tables are filled with food and the park picnic tables have table clothes. This picnic is something she's found herself in charge of year after year, and she loves it. There's something about giving back to a village that gave her a second chance.
Things are set up fairly smoothly with the exception of a few sprinkles in the late morning. Food is cooking (hotdogs and hamburgers fresh from the grill, baked beans, potato salad, veggie burgers and tofu...things. Not to mention baked treats.), decorations are on all the tables (nothing red, white or blue. Just festive party stars and streamers), the live band is playing, karaoke is going, and there are games for the kids. A stage is set up for a performer later. All to be capped off at nightfall by a firework show.
She does love this party, and Laura smiles a little at the crowd of people before walking to find her family.
