The doors to the tea shoppe were thrown wide and outside said doors was a giant shoe [see icon]. It had been gathering dust in Felecia's dressing room at Hidden Frank's and she had with great determination dragged it out in front of the shoppe because well, 1) she could, and 2) it would draw attention, most definitely. Propped in the shoe was a ( Read more... )

Clint had been crashing in Felicia's room for a few days now, but that didn't mean he saw his friend any more than usual really. She seemed to use it mainly as a dressing room, Clint was about to start joking about being her valet.

"Do I have to drink the tea?" He preferred coffee - but he did like scones.

"I keep a hidden pot of coffee just for you, darling."

She came up to cup his cheek with her hand. "How are you, mmm?" Poor, pretty Clint not being with his lovey-dovey.

"I know," he liked to ask about the tea though. His smile was lopsided and didn't quite reach his eyes. "I'm good Felicia."

Or as good as could be expected, he hadn't thought he'd miss Nat quite this much, even seeing her at work.

Slipping her arm through his, she walked him to the counter to sit. "A raspberry scone for you." For the redhead - see what she did there? She went to get the coffee.

"And some of that lemon stuff?" He never did remember what it was called. He was going to ignore the pointed flavor of the scone.

"Lemon curd," Felecia tittered and went about getting things together. Coffee first, then the scone on a plate, curd in a little cup next to it. Felecia plopped down on a stool across from his friend. "So."

"So," he echoed and picked up the coffee cup[ to take a long swallow. "This gonna be the conversation about over staying my welcome?"

Pffft! "Of course not! I just want to know what you're going to do to get your redhead back." Obviously.

"Nothing," he wasn't exactly glum about it but he wasn't pleased at all either. "There's nothing I can do."

They weren't apart because of something he had done.

"So you're simply going to mope about like a mopey thing?" Huff! Felecia frowned. "Are you at least going to have little trysts in alleyways and stolen moments?"

"I'm not moping," he protested, weakly. "And trysts might make this worse... You know?"

Not that it didn't sound like a great idea.

"Make what worse? Your moping?! Because, please." She touched that line around his mouth. "It isn't as if either of you have died! Just be ... surreptitious about it!" And wasn't that a big word for the drag queen!

"I'm not moping," he broke off a piece of scone and dipped it in the lemon curd.

"And we're very good at surreptitious, that's not really the problem. Not totally."

"And what is the problem, then?" Felecia asked, nosy as was to be expected.

He had to think about it for a few long moments before he had the right words. Or close to the right words.

"We already have targets on our backs. Being important to each other... makes them glow in the dark neon targets. We become liabilities to each other."

"Oh."

That sounded so sad. Felecia pouted. "That's nearly tragic. Poor Clint!"
