*timed to early monday morning-tag Leoben and Laura

Truth be told, George was a little hesitant about getting a job here.  He knew he needed one, knew he couldn't rely on some sort of allowance-it wasn't in him and how his folks raised him, but it was still a little hard to believe that he could (he would) get settled in this place. Everything was so foreign while being so familiar-and so separate from what he just came from, he couldn't believe what would cause a guy like him to have such luck.

It was just sort of impulse that had him chose the bakery. He was going to ask about the hardware or grocery store first, given that they were areas that he had experience with at home, but then McClane told him about the people at the bakery and he felt compelled to atleast ask if he could assist. Hearing that the man had to raise a kid by himself..and the lady already had a job (as a principle, talk about opposites), so they seemed to be the ones in need of hiring.

He arrived promptly at 8 that Monday morning, dressed in clean slacks and pressed shirt. He didn't feel right wearing a suit for this sort of interview (besides the fact that he didn't even have a suit yes), but even he knew he couldn't appear like a bum. Inside of the place made him stare. Not just because of how the place was decorated, but just the variation of baked goods-he couldn't remember the last time he'd seen this much sugary confection in years, not with how folks were back home. Had it not been for the more plainer rolls and bread loaves he caught as well, he would've just turned heel and left without another word.

Taking in and letting out a deep breath (and putting out his cigarette), he readied himself in and walked over to the counter, looking around for anyone in charge.
