Holiday Ball [[gathering post]]

As always this time of year, Laura's been busy getting the ballroom transformed for the annual holiday ball. As long as she's been here, there's been an adults only party of this sort, and this is the fourth now, that she's found the details on her plate.

She's spent two days decorating and getting all of the food organized, but the real task was decorating the large tree with help and ladders. Many, many ladders. And a scaffolding. The room looks beautiful though, and a band sets up on a stage at the head of the room. They'll be playing Christmas music all night; some with live singing, and some without. Mostly it simply evokes dancing.

With one more check that all of the food and (large) amounts of alcohol are set and ready to go, Laura leaves to change, and at seven p.m., the festivities begin.
