As Zoe gets ready for the day, Maya is sitting on the floor of the bedroom, studying herself in the mirror. She has a tooth or two, and is currently fascinated with that other baby staring at her. It amuses Zoe, and she ties her hair back, watching her not so little baby.

River hasn't been around much, she knew she was too raw to be around the baby so she'd kept scarce or in her room. She may not like the pills but they help and now that she has them again things are better, she still misses Simon but she doesn't feel like she's going mad.

Peeking in the doorway she smiles at Maya and they flicks her silent gaze on Zoe.

Maya gives River away, twisting her body so that she can reach out for her with a call. Zoe looks up and smiles, the concern for her though still in her eyes.

"Hey River. How you feelin'?" She knows it's been hard on her, losing Simon, but she also tried hard not to hover, treat her like a child.

"I'm going to eat your baby." She enters slowly, dropping to all fours to crawl toward Maya making snarling wild animal faces, hair a wild tumble.

She is obviously being a lion.

"She does look mighty delicious," Zoe chuckles.

Maya gets excited, her eyes widening as she flops forward on her hands and knees.

River gummed the baby's arm, and growled, then rolled onto her back and lifted Maya up over her head like a bird.

"She tastes like baby."

Maya's grin is huge as she giggles, and she stuffs her hands in her mouth before waving her arms.

Zoe has an idea, maybe something to help River feel a little better.

"You want to take her to the park sometime soon? Just you and her?"

River would like that, but she frowns as she looks over at Zoe.

"I can't find my shoes."

This ain't uncommon.

"Want me to help you look? Or you wanna watch her here for a while, then bring her to the store later?"

She blinked, Zoe hadn't understood.

"I might lose her."

"Oh. ...Oh. Well, don't worry about it. I'll still help you find your shoes, though."

Maya gets a handful of River's hair but doesn't pull. She knows not to pull, because of mommy's hair.

River brings the baby close and blows noisy bubbles into her neck.

"I have my pills again." SO maybe soon, she could take Maya.

"And how you feelin'?" Zoe asks curiously.

Maya is eating up the attention, and attempts to blow bubbles back, but it mostly winds up in a lot of baby slobber.

River rolls into a seated position and cradled the baby, considering Zoe's question.

"Less like I'm going to fly into lots of little pieces."

Sitting on the edge of the bed to pull on her boots, Zoe looks at River. "That's a good thing. You think you feel up to invitin' over the rest of the crew for a meal?"

She considered, smoothing Maya's hair absently.

"Can Neville come?"

"Sure can." She smiles a little. "Things are goin' pretty good with him, then?"
