As Zoe gets ready for the day, Maya is sitting on the floor of the bedroom, studying herself in the mirror. She has a tooth or two, and is currently fascinated with that other baby staring at her. It amuses Zoe, and she ties her hair back, watching her not so little baby.
"Who's that, mei mei? Shì lìng yīgè yīng'ér?"
Maya turns, then babbles as she bats her hand against the mirror. It's when she sees daddy in the reflection that her eyes light up, and she babbles louder, the last note ending on an excited shriek.
