Let's Kill Reavers [[ground fighting]]

Jun 17, 2012 12:43

As soon as Wash and the others have the Reavers out of the air, Zoe starts leading her unit to the ship, weapons ready. If they're lucky, some of these bastards died on impact. But, considering how the day's going so far, she's guessing no. And she can't help but think about the last time she did this, the way they'd all nearly died. The day Wash ( Read more... )

John hadn't heard from his guard unit, but he wasn't going to wait. He headed out to the Police Station to make sure Matt was there, and everyone was secure there, and looking to rescue people as needed.

J.L.'s arm was now fully healed and he was capable, finally, to pitch in and help when the village was attacked. So he's out, trying to find Kyla to make sure she's alright, and trying to keep anyone who can't fight, safe.

There's a collapsed building with lots of rubble and one of those weird humans is snarling at the debris as it's trying to dig its way through with its bare hands. J.L.'s eyes narrow. He could hear a faint scream from underneath. Someone was under there.

He ran at the Reaver and kicked him. It's been a while since J.L. had fought hand-to-hand with someone since his injury, but it's like riding a bike. If he could fight a T-X, he could fight anything.

He hears the neck snap and the Reaver goes down, but there are more around, J.L. knows, and he's going to have to work fast. He's just not sure he can move all the concrete himself.

"Someone under there, kid? We're going to have to work fast, there's more coming." John could grab and shift much bigger blocks of concrete.

He looked over at the kid.

"Let me do this and you watch and let me know when something gets close?"

He sizes the man up quickly. It's easy to tell who's one of those things and who isn't which was helpful. Being ordered to stand and do nothing doesn't sit well with the Corporal though.

"I can do both." He glances to the debris, then to John. "Unless you can lift the large ones all by yourself."

No human could lift some of the larger slabs. No human. A Terminator could.

John grinned.

"Okay, you watch my back, I'll watch yours." Nope, not a terminator, he was scratched, and bleeding.

He nods as he moves over to one of the big pieces of concrete. His eyes are ever watchful behind John as he bends with the knees.

"One, two three," John said, so they could lift together. He grunts as they shift it, and move it aside. There's a growling sound somewhere, coming closer, John draws his gun and spins, looking around.

He grunts, too, as he picks up the cement and wonders how the person underneath is doing. J.L. knows intimately what it's like to be underground with little oxygen.

J.L. looks in the same direction as John, watchful, his expression still. At least their enemy is human.

It's a narrow edge they're on -- they've got to get the person out from under there, but working too loudly will draw the attention of those people eating, baby raping assholes out there.

He waits for a second, hearing nothing, then holsters his gun, and nodding at the kid, picks up the next piece.
