Put a ring on it (tag Laura)
There were moments of strange deja-vu. It wasn't as if Peeta and Katniss hadn't been engaged before. It wasn't as if there hadn't bee pictures of Katniss in a wedding dress (a dress turned to ashes). But this - here in this village - was real. No one was making them get married, no one was threatening everything they had. Katniss had said yes to marry him because she wanted to. Even having Rue here was a reminder of how important it was to live.
All of this was on Peeta's mind as he changed clothes after work before meeting Laura and Laila. He'd never gone ring shopping before; he had no idea what to expect. But he did have cookies - pink and orange ones - for Laila and he smiled when he saw them both outside the hotel. "Hi," he said,as he came up. "Thanks again, for doing this."
