In the past, Zoe would have scoffed at the idea of Jayne Cobb looking after an infant. That was until she saw him with hers, and now, other than Mal, she's pretty sure Jayne's the safest bet. He'd likely put holes in someone who even looked at Maya wrong, and that's comforting to a mother such as Zoe. Shoot first, ask questions later. Possibly apologize, but not always.
