John had promised Erica, so he went to Tyler's room. There was no answer, so John...didn't quite break in -- he 'bent' in. Nothing. No sign the room had ever been occupied. He went to the front desk to check the directory...no such person as Tyler Evans listed

Generally home before John, Erica's already in the kitchen, plotting out dinner. Aibileen has cooked very often for them, but today too much play time with Angel (which Erica loved) got in the way of a meal. Huffing a little, because she can't decide what she wants or what everyone might want, she decides on breakfast for dinner.

She's flipping pancakes when she hears the door, calling out. "It's IHOP night at the McClane's, I hope you don't mind." She smiles a little to herself, taking one pancake off the skillet and pouring in more batter.

"No, I don't mind, that's great." He comes over and kisses her -- and sighs. Shoot himself to get a bad guy? No problem. Ruin his wife's good mood? Can't quite bring himself to do that.

Erica hums against his mouth, but when he sighs, she pulls back a little.

"Long day?"

He takes a deep breath, straightens, and rubs his hands over her shoulders. He looks her in the eye.

"After I left the station, I stopped by Tyler's room."
