John had promised Erica, so he went to Tyler's room. There was no answer, so John...didn't quite break in -- he 'bent' in. Nothing. No sign the room had ever been occupied. He went to the front desk to check the directory...no such person as Tyler Evans listed.

Shit.

John stalked the hotel halls, back to their room, stonier faced that usual.

Once in the room, John went through his routine, taking off the gun and locking it up, before going to find Erica.
