re-arrival: gentle tag any old friends.

The messenger boy arrived only a few days after Anne had heard of Catherine's trail. He'd arrived with a message from the king: he was holding a party. The king of England was hosting and wanted her to attend a party just a day before his queen's execution.

Anne looked up at the young man. "Please give his majesty my regards, but tell him that I'm coming down with a cold, and would rather not have him catch ill as well." She watched the young man's face turn curious: she was healthy looking enough. "I know it is a lie," She confessed. "But I simply cannot attend a party so close to a queen's execution. I will visit him whenever he wishes, but this time I will have to decline."

She looked down at the invitiation again, before back at the messenger. "You may tell him this after you've visited the kitchens, you must be hungry after your ride here." He nodded and left, one of her ladies showing him the way to the kitchens.

Anne still held the invitiation, barely able to believe it. Of course in the village, she had read that this would happen, read that Catherine would be the second queen Henry ordered executed. When she found herself back in Ritchmond, and eventually invited to the New Years celebrations, she even tried to warn Catherine to be more careful with her flirtatious behavior: she should have known that such advice would not stick. For all the young queen's charm and vivality, she was more a child than a proper queen.

She turned and headed to the chapel. She needed to pray, pray for Catherine's soul, for the King's mental well-being (what was left of it anyway) and most of all, she wanted to give thanks that she was no longer under such strain.

Instead of the interior of the chapel, her eyes widened when she saw that she was back in the village, standing just outside the church, with Henry's invitation in hand.

But how, she had been gone for just over a year-how could she be back again? Further more, how could it feel like summer when it was Febuary back home? It took her a moment to recall how time worked here: that was to say, not at all like it did back home. But that meant she needed to get to the hotel, to see if they still had her room with Vianne (was Vianne still in the village-she hoped so). Her rich gown may've been grand and fine for a palace in winter, but with the heat of summer, she knew that if she didn't get in someplace cooler, it would only be a hindarince.

ooc: yay! back from haitus, and Anne of Cleves is back from her canon update. Catch her anywhere from the church to the hotel,

streets, church
