Laura absolutely loves throwing parties for her friends. Especially friends who have found out they’re due a whole month ahead of schedule. She closes the bakery on Sunday so that she can clean in the morning, make the food, and bake a cake without worrying about foot traffic and decorations being torn down. Blue balloons and streamers decorate, and there is a white board in front with a basket of clothes pins. On the white board it says:
There are a couple of other games planned but nothing that requires much skill. She’s omitted the ‘how much streamer will it take to wrap around Juliet’s stomach’ game, but there is the baby food tasting game and a jar full of safety pins to have people guess the number. But with men and women attending, she’s keeping it mostly ‘girly’ free. There are even drinks to go with the food. Going home to change and come back with Laila and Joslire, Laila immediately goes for the streamers. Then, Juliet and James arrive, hugs are given while the men introduce themselves and Laila announces “JAY!” when she sees James.
As the other guests arrive and clothespins are playfully taken away and passed from person to person, Laura mostly busies herself with being a good host, making sure there’s plenty of food and beverages for everyone.
