Sam stood quietly inside the bowling alley, glancing around in quiet assessment as he held a set of keys in his hand.  When he had woken up that morning, he had found the keys waiting for him on his bedside stand.  A quick glance at the key chain told him to check out the bowling alley and the note that had been with the keys confirmed that he was ( Read more... )

Spike was not a bowling alley guy. Would never be a bowling alley guy, that was Angel, but the woman that he'd picked out that would be a lovely gift for Dru had walked into the building. Which meant that Spike followed her.

The problem was that once inside, the bint had headed over to a group of friends. Normally not a problem, Spike would have still stalked her but her friends all had crosses and wore habits. A nun league? Now he'd have to wait until the bint left.

This meant he was presented with two things. Leave and wait outside or stick around and see if there would be another good target. Yeah, Spike chose the second one. So he settled on a plastic chair and pulled out a cigarette from his leather jacket and lit up.

Sam watched the blonde man with casual interest from where he leaned against the counter, sipping his coffee. There was something about him that made Sam look and then glance over to the group of people that he had been watching.

Maybe it was best to keep an eye on the whole thing.

Straightening, he looked at the man again. "Can I help you with something?"

"No, mate I'm good." He said with a puff of smoke toward the ceiling then turned his head to look at Sam. "Yeah, maybe you can."

Spike motioned toward the nuns bowling, "get a lot of leagues? Dru and me, we like to socialize some, thought I'd check it out." If he had a schedule of when leagues were and when the nuns bowled he could avoid them. Unlike Angelus, nuns weren't his thing.

"Uh, I think we do." Sam looked around for some kind of information that could help him. "I actually just took over today, so I'm still figuring a few things out." He flashed a small smile, glancing towards the nuns before looking around again.

"Here we are." He finally found a schedule. "Looks like tonight is their only night right now."

"Oh, hello, you must be new." A woman in her early to mid thirties, with such high energy that the word 'perky' would have applied, except that her bearing was blatantly military, addressed Sam.

"I need a lane, please." She had a bowling bag with her, and her own shoes...obviously a regular customer. Judging by her smile, she was real happy about that, too.

Focusing on the woman, he smiled as he straightened. "Yes, I am." He nodded, wondering if it was easy to tell he was new or if it was just that she meant he was new to the bowling alley.

"Sure thing." He smiled, moving over to the little computer which he was still trying to figure out. "Lane 2 is open."

"Thanks." She nodded; she knew where lane 2 was.

"So, are you new to town, or just to the bowling alley?"

"New to both. Just arrived a few days ago." He smiled. "Though I've been told that I've been here before. I just don't remember it."

Clark had seen the tall young man around, and had meant to check in and see how he was doing.

He wouldn't have figured a bowling alley for the sort of place where Sam would work, but the village did seem to have its own ideas about things sometimes.

Figuring now was as good as time as any, Clark headed over. Seeing Sam looking rather bored behind the counter, Clark smiled and headed over.

"Sam, good to see you - welcome back." He approached the counter and offered his hand.

[ooc: Clark met with the previous version of Sam - don't know if this version would remember or not.]

Sam blinked as he reached for the other man's hand, shaking it politely as a look of confusion passed, quickly followed by realization while he offered a smile.

"Sorry, I'm new here. I don't remember being here before." He offered as an explanation.

[ooc: Okay! This version doesn't remember anything about being in the village before.]

"I'm sorry, I hadn't thought of that." Clark said. "It's true that does happen sometimes. I've been here twice, though thankfully I recalled the first time."

"I'm Clark, by the way. We didn't know each other that well, really. I gathered that you and your brother Dean were bounty hunters of a sort back home." He smiled. "I'm a Kansas boy as well."

"It's okay. My brother warned me about it when I came here." He replied with a nod.

"Nice to meet you, Clark." He smiled though there was a slight pause when Clark mentioned them being bounty hunters which was probably the safest assumption to make in some ways. "Really? Where in Kansas?"
