Edward - Streets

Edward stands on the street corner with a dozen or so multi-colored roses, randomly giving them to people. He was in a generous mood, leaning against the streetlamp with a smile on his face. He didn't know what possessed him to decide to hand out flowers, but he supposed that maybe karma would learn to forgive and cut him a break if he was a good ( Read more... )

Not a question you get asked everyday, which might explain the slightly confused look Sarah's giving him.

"Um sure why not," she says tilting her head, "wait they're not magic flowers or anything right?" After being in the labyrinth she knows it good to check these things.

Edward smiles slighty at her expression. He had to look all kinds of strange standing on the street corner with flowers. Crazy, probably.

"No, they're not magic," he replies evenly, "They're just normal flowers." He takes a white one from the bunch and hands it to her.

Well Sarah would probably suggest eccentric rather than plain old crazy, but then she's nice like that.

Takes the flowers she smells it and smiles up at him half waiting for something to happen, of course if it did she'd only have herself to blame she really should know better than to accept things from strangers.

"Thank you, so can I ask why you're standing in the street handing out flowers?"

Edward smiles down at her, running a hand shyly through his brown hair. He crinkles his nose a bit, trying to think of a good reason he was out here doing this. A few were running through his mind, but he just couldn't find the words.

"Well," he starts, swallowing, "I thought I'd do a good deed. It's been so long since I've done something like that... and some days you just feel generous." He smiles again.

"Oh, roses! I love roses!"

As well she should, since it is her name. She'd recognized the fellow handing out the flowers as the one who'd helped her with the problem of writer's block in the cafe a few weeks before.

"How have you been, sir? It has been a while since I last saw you."

Edward smiles at her warmly, handing her a particularly pretty red rose.

"I have been well, my lady." He chuckles slightly, "How did that writer's block pass from you, or has it?"

She nods her thanks for the rose, and then answers his question.

"It has, it has .. Though the writing goes slow still. But I suppose slow is better than not at all!"

Edward bites his lip thoughtfully, "I'm sorry to hear that it's still slow, but yes, it's better than nothing." He smiles at her again and twirls another rose in his hand, "How have you been besides the writing?"
