Six piles of books and God knows how much coffee later and Mulder had determined one thing: the village was a time rip. It was the only thing that remotely made sense and, since that whole incident off Bermuda, he was pretty apt to believe it. Of course, unlike Bermuda, it seemed to be later than 1999 and, well, Scully was pretty much Scully.

Mina read the sign and arched her eyebrow delicately. With a mental shrug, she looked to Fox Mulder.

"Why are you interested in vampires?"

[agt_mulder]

"Why not? Vampires are a fascinating part of the human mythos. Did you know there are over 600 forms of the vampire legend?"

Mulder's eyes gleamed. "Are you a vampire?"

"I am," she nodded. "Mina Harker," she introduced herself as she stepped forward and extended her hand.

Mina Harker. The Mina Harker? This just got better and better. Mulder contained his excitement though, and wrote her name down on the first interview sheet he'd prepared.

He shook her hand once, then nodded. "All right, Ms. Harker. Are you affected by any traditional vampire banes? Sunlight, crosses, holy water, garlic?"

"Supernatural beings"?

Well. That was interesting. Equally interesting was the variety of supernatural phenomena that this man was investigating.

Harry turned to the man in the chair. "Okay, now I'm curious. Why the research? These are subjects that most people outside of the village would ignore. Or would say didn't exist." He rolled his eyes.

Mulder shrugged. "Where I come from, I need evidence of this sort of thing to keep my job. Figure I should work while I'm here. Besides, when else am I going to get to interview a vampire? They tend to run a lot faster than I do."

"You have my deepest sympathies," Harry said, meaning it. "Back home, I need evidence like this for my cases, too." He held out his hand. "Harry Dresden. Wizard. And private investigator. You'd be amazed at how well the two combine."

Mulder shook his hand and gave him a grin. "Hope you don't mind the twenty questions. Fox Mulder. FBI agent by day, paranormal investigator...also by day."

Thomas read the sign, and smiled. Given what the person was looking for... he probably was the last thing this person was expected.

Dressed in very expensive clothing (as Thomas did these days), he wandered down to the lobby.

Mulder was between interviews. He was pretty pleased with the turnout--Harker had been fun to interview, after all, and he'd gleaned some info.

"Here for an interview?"

"Let's just say curious," Thomas smirked in reply.

[agt_mulder]

"Curiosity works for me." He extended a hand. "Fox Mulder, FBI."

[smith_drsmith]

"So, what purpose do you have in interviewing these... individuals," The Doctor said, passing through the lobby on the way to the Observatory. It still needed work after the Joker's attack.

[agt_mulder]

"Purpose? I'm going to use it to present case evidence to my superiors in Washington that paranormal investigations need to be reopened and stay open."

Self-vested, sure, but for a good cause.

[smith_drsmith]

"Oh you don't want to do that," the Doctor said. "Humanity ready to accept the supernatural? Long way off."

[agt_mulder]

"Yeah, but I need a job," he countered. "Are you qualifying then? It's not just for vampires..."

[buy_me_beer]

Jon stopped to look at the sign and grinned. "What qualifies as a supernatural being?"

[agt_mulder]

Mulder grinned back. "Depends. What do you have that you think qualifies?"

[buy_me_beer]

"I'm the result of a fifty year old Air Force general being cloned by a Roswell who was a bit on the crazy side."

If that didn't qualify him, he was going to be try that emo thing for the rest of the day.

Mulder nodded appreciatively. "Cloning. I like it. So, this General...stationed at Roswell?"
