Gardening, Jeannie style (OTA)

Jeannie had gone out to the park to enjoy the weather. She decided to wear her own clothes as she often did now, though she liked the modern magazine clothes quite a lot. She just felt more at home in her own things. It reminded her that she'd have to redecorate her suite soon ( Read more... )

Even though she had several people like Buffy and Yuri help her out with the hygene thing, Aphrodite was still struggling with it. In fact, she had a smudge of dirt on her cheek from falling into the mud and she was heading back to her room at the hotel when she noticed an ugly little man wearing the worse outfit known to man. She made a face. If she had her powers she'd give the man a make-over. She huffed and then - poof - the man was wearing an Gucci suit.

Aphrodite's eyes lit up as she pointed to herself. She disappeared in a blink and re-appeared in a cute new outfit. Her hair looked great, her skin looked great, and on top of that - she smelled great. The goddess of Love and Beauty was back. She clapped her hands together and make a gleeful sound.

That was when her eyes caught glimpse of the fountain. She made another face. "Ew." She blew the fountain a kiss and turned the fountain into something better.

When the fountain changed, Jeannie looked up sharply. That statue looked familiar somehow. Oh. Then she saw the other woman.

"This is supposed to be a memorial for some people. I don't think that's entirely appropriate." She blinked and the fountain was back the way it was.

She rolled her eyes. "If it was my memorial, I wouldn't want it looking like that. I'd want something they'd remember." So Aphrodite flicked her wrist and the fountain changed again.

Jeannie looked at this one for a while. Finally, she spoke.

"Do you not think it is a little much for such a small area?" It had potential even if it was a bit foreign.

OOC--Sorry. My ability to find anything online is pathetic.

Shane watched her for a while, bemused but not shocked-- he'd gotten over that, at least.

"So, you're fixing up the monument," he said intelligently.

He felt a little guilty. He'd let himself get busy with other things-- things that didn't involve him remembering the vampire invasion.

Jeannie turned quickly at the voice. She hadn't been paying attention.

"Yes. I did not think that anyone would mind and I was feeling like doing something today." It looked very nice if she said so herself. "I did not know any of those people but they should have their garden finished so people can come by and remember."

Remember and enjoy their own lives. That was part of it, not merely dwelling on sad things.

"I'm Jeannie."

"I'm Shane. I brought some of the supplies, I was going to help get it set up... in the spring," he said guiltily, because Spring was here and he hadn't been back out to the plot. "I knew some of these people."

"Well, now you do not need to do any work." That seemed like a good thing. "Would they have liked it, do you think? I can change it if they would have wanted something else."

It was their monument, and Shane actually knew some of them.

Jackrabbit was hardly a botanist but he liked flowers and he liked the way that gardens contained, more than anything, the spark of life.

"Hello," he said to her as he approached. His blond curls were dark, a light brown, from being inside all winter, though there were highlights that hinted since the sun had made its appearance he'd been outside in it.

"Hello," Jeannie responded with her usual smile. "I have not seen you before. My name is Jeannie."

She stopped with her weeding and turned to the young man. Ooh, he was tall.

Very. He grinned at her, a serene sort of blink, squeezing his eyes closed very much like a happy cat.

"Hello Jeannie," he said, "I am called Jackrabbit."

"That is a most unusual name, but I like it very much." He didn't look much like a rabbit either. "What do you do here in the village? I have not seen you before--I have not gone out very much though I've been here a few months."

She should meet more people. There were so many and they were interesting.
