At the cafe {Open to All}

Lara had laid in agony for a half hour after Jack and Samantha left the cells in the casino. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on the point of view, the guard came soon after to find her curled in a fetal position, blisters all over the skin that had touched either O'Neill or Carter. The one thing that had saved Lara from unbearable pain was ( Read more... )

Which it did quite well, in Ahio's opinion. Upon passing, the angel had to make a conscious effort not to let his jaw sag. His wings were another story; they perked themselves right up, ready for preening.

"Uh... Nice weather we're having!"

There was just a fraction of widening of the eyes when Lara looked up and saw the man with wings. It wasn't that she wasn't used to seeing different 'creatures', she was, but she hadn't seen any here in the village. The smart ass in Lara found it slightly humorous that he had an angelic look to him. Angel and devil, how delicious.

"Yes, it is." She sat up straighter in her seat and indicated an empty one. "Would you like to join me?"

He nibbled his cherry-filled pastry and nodded. "Sure." He sat and smiled at her. "I'm Ahio."

"I'm Lara. It's very nice to meet you, Ahio." She took a sip of her tea. "Are you out enjoying the beautiful weather, too?"

I just want something different to eat, that's all. I reminds me that it has been far too long since Sophie and I have gone to dinner. Even the cafe, though I have started to have much more faith in the changing restaurant.

I note that spring has brought people to the tables outside, including Lara. I'm sure it says something that my first thought on her lack of clothing is 'is she not cold?' Spring-like weather, but not that warm.

"Hello again," I say with a smile and nod. I'm wearing long trousers, long button-up shirt, boots, and cloak--and I'm comfortable in them.

Lara looked up at Faramir and smiled genuinely. "Hello. It's nice to see you again." She indicated the empty chair. "Would you like to join me?"

"Yes, thank you. As long as I can get something to eat I don't mind where I sit, and I enjoy company sometimes." When I wish to be alone, I eat at the library or in my room.

I have to ask.

"Pardon, I don't mean to be rude, but are you not cold at all?" It's only early spring.

Lara shook her head, "It's not rude at all, Faramir. My body temperature is lower than most people. I feel the cold of winter, but this isn't too cold for me."

And she had fed which helped to keep her skin cooler to the touch than usual. Lara smiled at him. "How did your valentine's day go with your lady fair? Was it a success?"
