Which it did quite well, in Ahio's opinion. Upon passing, the angel had to make a conscious effort not to let his jaw sag. His wings were another story; they perked themselves right up, ready for preening.

"Uh... Nice weather we're having!"

There was just a fraction of widening of the eyes when Lara looked up and saw the man with wings. It wasn't that she wasn't used to seeing different 'creatures', she was, but she hadn't seen any here in the village. The smart ass in Lara found it slightly humorous that he had an angelic look to him. Angel and devil, how delicious.

"Yes, it is." She sat up straighter in her seat and indicated an empty one. "Would you like to join me?"

He nibbled his cherry-filled pastry and nodded. "Sure." He sat and smiled at her. "I'm Ahio."

"I'm Lara. It's very nice to meet you, Ahio." She took a sip of her tea. "Are you out enjoying the beautiful weather, too?"

"Yes, I do enjoy the sunshine more than the clouds and dampness," he grinned. "I'm not looking forward tot he heat of summer, though."

"Really? Does it get very hot here?" Her full lips curled into a smile as she thought about the heat. She could definitely use that to her advantage. "I haven't been in the village very long."

"It can. I just feel the higher temperatures more than most," he explained. "My blood has a high temperature already."

Lara let her gaze run over Ahio's body, but to her credit she was subtle about it. She could easily believe that he had a higher body temperature and smiled. "Is it because of your wings? Your body is used to flying at altitude?"

"Exactly," he smiled. Ahio was a very good-looking angel, and knew it though he was not one to exploit it. "I feel most comfortable there."

In that, he and Lara were as different as night and day. She knew she was beautiful and exploited it to the best of her abilities. She was nice, however, and didn't send out any of her tendrils of lust.

"Do you spend most of your time flying? When you can of course."

Ahio may be an angel, but he was also male. She didn't have to do anything except sit there to keep his attention.

"As much as I can, between work," he nodded, licking filling off his fingers.

Her gaze flicked down to his lips watching as Ahio licked his fingers. "Where do you work? I know it's not at the casino Cal Mah I would have seen you there."

"No, I work at the music store. I assume you work at the casino?"

"Yes, I do." She felt her lips twitch into a smile that an 'angel' would work in a music store. Probably as funny as a Succubus as head of a high end call girl business. "I make sure all the high profile winners at the casino get special treatment."

"There are high profile people in the village?" he asked, amused. "I never would have guessed."

Lara laughed and shook her head, "No, high profile in the monetary winnings. There are powerful people in the village that expect the same luxuries that they had in their home world though." Ba'al being one and her being another one. There were others of course.
