"You must be very dedicated to practice here on your own."

"I am. Or I try to be. I want my Master to be proud of me." And not to change his mind about training him.

"Any Master would be proud to have you as an apprentice, I would think."

He smiled, pleased she thought so, "Thanks. I hope he's proud. I nearly wasn't even chosen as a padawan to any Master."
He'd nearly had to be a farmer on some outer rim planet. A fate that would have devastated him.
