(no subject)
today in french class some girls did a presentation on celine dion and dominic called french music 'fromage' and prof. lynda went into an outrage and demanded to know if dominic had heard cowboys (something or other). she gets quite passionate and even a bit defensive about her opinions in class. last week she was moderating our presentation on the recently passed french bill regarding religious symbols in school, and she went on about how allowing hijabs in school was wrong because it didn't promote equality. of course the rest of the class disagreed and was all for freedom of expression, and a chaotic half an hour of arguement and cutting-each-other-off ensued. usually after "gymnastiques pour la bouche" and discussion we watch movies. i chock it up to coincidence that in both the films she's shown the lead male fool was named francois pignon. i liked the previous movie she showed, le closet, except for the part where they showed butt.
now i am going to have my third nap of the day & just to give the pretense of putting my education first i will play algerian music in the background and try to make out the french words while waiting for the delta waves to take over.
LATER THAT EVENING:
my nap is over. :( it was a short one indeed. i got up and threw away two cardboard boxes and some scraps of paper. i still haven't gotten around to vacuuming yet even though greg encouraged me with an intuitive vacuum joke. and i just discovered that i forgot to buy the wall hooks i so desperately wanted, even though i remember picking them up and putting them into my shopping cart. i must've forgotten to put them on the conveyer belt at the cashier's. no thanks, i would not like some cheese with my whine. :(
