Buyer's Remorse

Oct 24, 2005 13:23

I am easily one of those people that oftentimes feels guilt over a purchase or splurge and ends up either returning it, or forgetting about it with the INTENTION of returning it, and then end up with this overpriced piece of (enter: clothing, computer, camera, music) to plague my conscience all the time. Well, I have it so much from yesterday, it's sad. I don't understand how people without jobs or at least halfway decent jobs can afford anything these days with inflation. Shit. Here's the breakdown and then the story...

H&M: $123
Target: $48
Whole Foods: $109
Borders: $114
Sunglass Hut: $172!!

So the thing is this. I received a $30 gift card from sunglass hut for my birthday and, yesterday, when I was at the mall, I figured I'd go in there, find a decent pair, and pay like 50 bucks or something after using my gift card. I found this really great pair of Versace shades that I absolutely loved and went up front to buy them. After using the card the total came out to the most ridiculous price I have ever heard for freaking sunglasses. I seriously almost threw up in my mouth. However, I am one of those people that feels really guilty about wasting some sales guy's time looking at them, so I don't want to freak out and sound like a cheapskate, even though I would sound like a conscious human being if I refused them. Needless to say, I think I am going to return them when I get a chance this week. I just hope I don't forget about them. Fucking stupid.

PS. I hate this place. Officially.
