Yesterday at the park, Schmoopette and I were serenaded by a man who was very, very loudly singing along with the Evangelical Christian Theme Songs playing in his headphones. It's rather sad, but I could have been singing all of them right along with him. I guess some things just stick with you. Perhaps I didn't wait until marriage after all... but I'm still able to bust out into "Rejoice in the Lord Always" at a moment's notice.
Anyhow. This gentleman was making a joyful noise unto the Lord. And I mean that he was very joyful. And it was noise.
I hope Jesus enjoyed it because it didn't sound so much like "music" so much as that he himself was a seagull who died and had been resurrected by the hand of G-d. Resurrected to grace the playground with his presence, I suppose.
I wouldn't mind if Schmoopette learned some good "praise songs," I just would rather she learn them IN TUNE.
In other musical news, it will be a cold day in hell before I get "
Lolly lolly lolly get your adverbs here" out of my head.
