Day 4 (8 May'14)
Today, we were SUPPOSED to wake up earlier to go to Jiufen & Shifen. But as you have guessed it, we "lai chuang" again LOL!
Had wanted to leave hotel by 8+ 9am but we only left at ard 12pm or so.
Took Metro to Zhongxiao Fuxing station and wanted to take bus no. 1062 to Jiufen. The ride will cost NT 115 but the journey will take 1hr 15min. After waiting for a while, we decided to take a mini van operated by some illegal HAHAHA driver. It costs only NT 200 per pax and travelling time is 40 min (direct via highway) so why not? Another 3 Japanese guys also took the same van with us =)
At Jiufen, basically I bought souvenirs and chiong a lot of 芋圓. Like 2 bowls HAHAHA~
It's really old streets sia~
Saw a bubbletea shop there but didnt buy cuz 1 cup cost NT 85!!!! Da hell? I think it's tourist attraction but the price really *facepalm*
QAD found Shifen more interesting than Jiufen. Shall update about Shifen now =D
Actually, though the name sounds alike, Jiufen & Shifen are miles apart !!!!
By right we should take a bus downhill to Ruifang Train Station. Yes right, TRAIN! The old-school choo-choo train!
But our lazy bones got the better of us and we decided to just hail a cab there HAHAHAH~
Cab from Jiufen to Shifen = NT 650. The cab driver quite nice even when doing sales =p He said that Jiufen to Shifen, then Shifen back to Taipei's Metro normally will cost NT 1850 (NT 1200 for Shifen's return trip). But since business wasnt fantastic that day, he doesnt mind earning a bit lesser & offered us NT 1600 for the round trip, destination being any location in Taipei (sounds good ya?)
Shifen is where we release the sky lanterns aka tian deng. We chose a 4-colour lantern, NT 450. And got LED sky lantern souvenirs there (NT 90 - NT 130). So chio & nice!!! Had a walk on the bridge & railway. Spent 1hr there while the driver nap & wait for us inside his vehicle.
Bought fried calamari there and it was awesomely fucking good! Price a bit steep (NT 150) but the taste is really to-die-for. Won't ever regret trying! We also had custard pancakes, chocolate pancakes (sad to say, Taiwan their chocolate & ice cream all not sweet enough for our liking TT), and the gassy ramune-like bottled drink.
Our turn to KO on cab while travelling to Taipei 101 from Shifen. And Qad & I went up to 101's 99th storey outdoor area *woohoo*
Entrance fee is NT 500 per pax. Sibei ex lor~ what to do, tourist attraction mah~
Cant rmb what we did at night liao. Went Ximending to find food bah LOL. Last night stay liao. So fast, so sad T.T
Think I found the muah chee auntie and bought 2 boxes of muah chee HAHAHAH~ really very nice lor =p
Day 5 (9 May'14)
Time to check-out ~ official time is 12pm but we overshot a bit cuz we went to shower first.
Left the luggage in the hotel and we went to KFC for brunch, then to arcade. Ya, so we arcade the whole afternoon till 5pm when the cab we asked the hotel receptionist to help us book one day before arrived and sent us off to airport.
