Day 2 (6 May'14)
The weather was freaking cold. Despite wearing a t-shirt & jacket, we still felt cold. Temperature check - 15 degrees celsius. FIFTEEN!!!! In the day time somemore. Hoseh bo?
Today, we went to Tamsui old street 淡水老街 and Fisherman's Wharf 淡水漁人碼頭.
Took metro from Ximen > Taipei Main Station > end of red line. Journey took ard 45 min.
We walked around the streets (over and over and over again against our wishes. later on you'll read on and find out why) and QAD went for a NT100 for 10 min massage as his shoulders & back were sore and aching.
What's so special about this massage parlour besides the cheap price? The masseurs in there are all people with some sort of disabilities. You can tell from the look of their appearances, though they really sound like us. They speak fluently and are able to think / process info like normal people. So, if any of you do pass by there, do support them a little.
Tried the legendary towering soft serve ice cream (small version which cost NT 20) in the cold weather (I think we 2 kee siao lah). Their ice cream, not sweet de lor ~.~
Had some very cheap ramen for quick lunch (but really not nice lor >.<) at average NT 100 a bowl.
Good thing about TW is that most eateries provide tissue papers =)
After we thought we were more or less done with the old streets and wanna proceed to 漁人碼頭, we got the ferry tickets for NT 60 per ticket per pax (DO NOT attempt to walk there cuz the last trip I walked there, halfway through I almost gave up and wanna flag cab @.@)
Then my explanations for why we walked the old streets OVER & OVER AGAIN --> the ferry sets off at an hourly interval. The sales person didnt tell us, we didnt ask, so nvm lah hor. We thought we still had > 45 minutes to kill before the next ferry comes in so we went to walk around.
10 minutes before the departure time, we returned to the jetty but were informed that the ferry had left, cuz it was FULL. KNN~ lan lan wait for the next one lor. This time round, we learned to be more kiasu liao (ignite the Singaporean Kiasu spirit) and camped and waited around 20 min before the designated hourly departure.
On board ferry ~ I koon. Hahaha~ left QAD to admire the scenery by himself. Whether he napped or not I'm not too sure about that =p
In my memories, 漁人碼頭 used to be more crowded and interesting. But this time when we went, it was very dead & quiet. Scenery was beautiful, with slight drizzling & windy cold weather. Over there, we saw a 3-legged dog. The dogs there very friendly & nice de! Can sayang them all w/o fearing getting bitten =D
Headed back to Metro and back to Shilin Night market again hahahaha~ must eat mah! The weather so cold, very easy to get hungry de!
Then at night went arcade in Ximending.
Did I mention I really really liked the muah chee there? OMG it's so damn heavenly. I will go learn and open a shop in Singapore if I got the capital lor. Eating them like 4 hours after purchasing them and they're still so soft. Chewy but not sticky. Only NT 50 for a box. My greatest food preference there!

Day 3 (7 May'14)
We woke up later and later hahahaha! kua zhang la, woke up at 11am/12pm nia, still okay mah hor? (dont jio me to go trip if you expect to set off at like what 8am in the morning hor thank you very much!)
Today we set off for Wu Fen Pu (Houshanpi station) & Rao He Night Market.
Had Brunch (hu xu zhang lu rou fan) before shopping.
Today is my Shopping day hahahaha~ poor QAD like so sian for the 2 hours but no choice lah, le gf wanna shop, must tag along lor~
Their streets were pretty much like Bugis street, except they have lots of motorist zooming around in their bike. Speaking of bikes, after the Batam snatch scare, now QAD very alert towards bikes' sounds.
Some of the shops in Wu Fen Pu dont entertain retail as they only focus on wholesale, therefore dont get too offended if they dont entertain you much. They will put up a sign if they really dunwan to do business with you lah hahaha!
Walked abt 15 minutes to Rao He Night market. I heart their Night markets lor! Nice food, cheap, wide variety~
We went fortune reading in Rao He too but I shall skip the details here =)
QAD thought of chionging to Taipei 101 for a quickie but by the time we reached there, no more sale of tickets le. It's okay cuz we'll be going there on Day 4!
