Well hello peoples.
Yes, all of my friends here at school have been bugging me to please actually update my livejournal. And I thought you just got one of these things to look cool. Now I find that you actually have to update them. That is silly :)
I am happy because I finally got a good nights sleep last night, even though I did wake up for no apparent reason at about 4:00 in the morning and couldn't fall asleep for an hour and a half. But compared to how little sustained sleep that I have been getting for the past few days,I am definatly not complaining. I think that I was not panicking because I had actually finished my paper for my thoughts of the reformation class. My GOd is that class highly difficult. Luckly that reading is interesting. We have just read a debate of Luther against his former friend, at least ideologically (they did not get along personally), whose name is Karlstadt. It amazes me when I read these debates that two people who consider themselves very devout, who even believe that they have been inspired by the Word of GOd into a higher understanding, can hate so much. There is venom in there very words. You think for all there talk about brotherly love and the mercy of God, that they maybe would show it themselves to one another. No such luck. Because each thinks he is right, that he knows what God wants and that all others are blampimizers and sinners, he wants more than anything to bite into anyone who would pose a counter argument. If only they would realize, that although they talk about God and being inspired by him, they are being infinitely human, concerned as they are that others will possibly bring into question what they have done, and throw them off there throne of power. They say that they are lashing out at the ones who oppose them to protect the salvation of the weak who might be easily swayed by the devil in the form of the opponent. Wouldn't it be nice if I knew everything like these men thought they did, if I knew that all my enemies were actually the devil in disguise? Sorry, I am done ranting now.
Well, I need to take a shower, and then go to the library to print off an article that I have to read and report on in my Archeology of Gender class tomorrow. Yes, I know that the class sounds silly, but it is actually really interesting and important, and in no way is it a femmenazi class, unlike some others taught in the WGS department.
