Ran the 10k race in 1:00:54!
Wanted to get under an hour, got SO close! Still pretty happy with my time though.
lesson: eat the way you usually eat before a race! I ate a bagel yesterday because usually extra carbs do help my runs, BUT I hardly eat bread, and I swear it made me feel gross during the race, I could feel all that bread just sitting in my stomach and I had a really bad cramp between mile 3-5. ugh.
lesson learned for general life: staying clear of bread/wheat is generally a good idea. I feel a lot better when I limit my bread intake. We get carbs from so many other sources without realizing it- fruit, starchy veggies like sweet potatoes, and I should continue getting my carbs from these sources instead of bread.
I feel pretty nauseous today, not sure if its from the bread/race, can't tell. but I feel bloated and gross.
Food today
pre-race: half piece of bread w/half banana and PB
post race- apple, 2 cookies, protein bar
banana, bowl of cheerios
bowl of veggie chilli, 2 rice cakes w tuna, avocado and tomato
