SO, I've decided I NEED to get back the body I had last summer to truly enjoy myself this summer, I don't want to feel self conscious in shorts or a bathing suit. SO, Im going to track my calories this week instead of just eating healthy, because I find I snack a lot on healthy, but high calorie snacks like trail mix and PB and rice cakes and lots of hummus, and it's not helping me out!
Also, this week at the gym my new goal is burning calories, not necessarily running. My ankle has been hurting so I need to take a break, and even though I love yoga, I should be doing higher intensity workouts and keep yoga to once a week.
This past week:
Monday: AM yoga + 1.5 mile run
Tuesday: missed my night yoga class by 2 minutes! SO bummed.
Wednesday: 4 mile run
Thursday: rest (had a job interview I was stressed about!)
Friday: awesome solo workout: ran for 1.5 miles to warm up, then did two rounds of:
stability ball pike (10)
burpees (10)
squat jumps (10)
bicep curls (10)
tricep dips
lunge walks(20)
Then some ab work, I was a sweaty mess!
Saturday: 1 hour body attack class at the gym
Now that I write it all out, that's not half bad! Now if I can get my eating in check, I should be golden. I bought groceries to set me up for the week. I'll have oatmeal for breakfast, bring salads for lunch, and make a hearty dinner so I won't want to snack at night!
Side note: I can feel myself getting stronger which feels great! Now to just loose some body fat! I got this! My recent break-up with Pat, and a new job, and getting into grad school, and my trip to Peru are all new motivations to get in shape! Things are looking up!
