Rajjot
Sweets & Snacks
"food to go"
1234 Wolf Road
Sunnyvale, CA

this is the place.
here's the scene: it's the definition of a "hole in the wall." It's an Indian restaurant in an old strip mall behind a gas station and next to a liquor store. It's got the ambiance of a south Modesto laundromat.
The miracle is that the food served at Rajjot is really really cheap and really good. Several dishes are just sitting on a steam table behind glass. You have your choice of a 2 item combination for $5 or 3 for $6.25 (something like that). You get a choice of rice or naan type bread. I got the 3 item combination with chicken curry, saag paneer, and a curried okra. They put a large pile of okra on a paper plate and filled one large styrofoam bowl/cup with saag paneer and another with chicken curry. The portions were huge. The food was good.
Between me and the two other people who went, we tried everything they were serving that day and a few of the desserts. My friend spit the dessert out because he apparently doesnt understand that kind of thing, but that's ok. We all agreed on the food.
I have long since heard that the Mountainview/Sunnyvale area has a happening Indian Restaurant scene. Rajjot takes the cake as being the Cheaper Eats representative. I'll be going there again and again for sure - whenever I happen to be in Sunnyvale - whenever that happens to be.
