The continuing debate on fast food

I noticed this article today, because I'm also training for a marathon (in about a month, eep!). I'm always amazed that people consider doing things like this ( Read more... )

hmm i really don't get why this guy is choosing to do this short of getting some attention.

i'm questioning whether he'll have enough carbohydrates for a marathon for starters. by that i mean the complex kind-- not simple which we all know can be found in the sodas, sauces and desserts.

i have gone vegetarian for a period of about 3 months. i was ill-prepared for it and ended up getting sick and tired of pasta. but i wanted to try it and it made sense to do it.

I agree. It has to be an attention-getting measure, because it's ALWAYS McDonald's, because that's the most recognizable name.

I also find the phrase "bucket of soda" kind of upsetting. /random thought

I find that phrase weird too. It gave me a strange image of someone drinking Coke out of one of those plastic pails used for sand castles.

I don't eat fast food anymore but I have to admit that McDonald's Angus burger is really good. It's a great hamburger, taste-wise.

That's really all I have to say.

In regards to the article - that's just STUPID on the runner's part! Marathon or not, he's ruining his health!

I agree with the other commenters - it's just a publicity stunt.

But as for a specific diet, I've given up fast food. It just does nothing good for your body at all.

I spent a lot of time completely cutting out fast-food from my diet over the past year. It was hard but one of the best things I've ever done.

When I decided to go more vegetarian I cut out all fast foods completely. The only kind of fast food that I really eat now is pizza and most of the time that is home made.

I find this really odd as well that he's decided to do this around the time where the franchise Subway has beaten McDonalds for being the largest fast food franchise.

I think it's really going to effect his state for the marathon but I guess we won't know for sure until it happens
