Plot it with Hearts! Part Une! Our Story Thusfar...

Jul 12, 2008 23:31

There isn't all that much, actually.

If you check Axel's tags, you can get an idea of his developing ...relationship? Between Demyx and Axel. More like the developing relationship between their issues. Anyway, the plot train left the station with the arrival of Xigbar and then Xaldin, Organization XIII's numbers II and III, respectively.

Now, a note to those who don't know KH canon - the Org goes numerically for a lot of their positions and rank. So yes, II and III are quite a big deal. One of the ongoing jokes before strategy guides came out was you could fight Xaldin or call Deus Ex King Mickey to save your ass, which many had to do. Multiple times.

I also note that while we do love Axel? II and III are not lying about him. When Axel appears in Chain of Memories (technically the second KH game although the next one is called KHII), he is directly responsible for the deaths of just about half the Organization that he's part of. He is a Magnificent Bastard among the best of them.

But enough of that.

After meeting his former bosses and not telling them about the traitor, Demyx goes and gets Axel's attention to eventually warn the guy and promise to keep his secret.

Sadly Demyx's promises are for naught and someone else spills the beans to Xaldin about Axel

...Demyyyyyyx, you've got some esplainin' to do.

Will leaves a note for Axel who doesn't get it in time to avoid a run-in of his own, being let go to run off and finding Demyx curled up suffering the aftermath of his interrogation. After confusing the poor Nobody, Axel hides his ass out until a very very welcome friend appears and they blow this popsicle stand.

True to his word. Xaldin does make a full report to Xigbar, although it doesn't stay as professional as it starts out, and much Atlantean is had. Demyx crawls away from the fire a bit to dry and drop into the lake for a little while but gets waylayed by Xigbar. After the report, so once more Lucy Demyx has some explaining to do, this time with bonus mindfuckery.

Things for the night boil over entirely when Spoon darts in to drop off those goddamn notes that Axel wanted him to, only to run cross a drunken Xigbar. Great hilarity ensues when Ace shows up, and the Best Pickup Line Ever makes an appearance. Oh also there were psychotic episode triggerings. And guns.

The next day or so, Will wonders just how badly he messed things up by spilling the beans about Axel. On cue, Demyx wanders by to give him a visual for a ballpark area.

Meanwhile, for those of you keeping track at home? Xigbar and Xaldin? Still drunk. Which makes for terribly entertaining reports. Also, terribly entertaining for running into a feisty Scaramouche, who manages to tiptoe along that thin line of brazenly aggressive against the BIG SCARY ORGANIZATION XIII MEMBER but not crossing out of the "AND IT'S WONDERFUL!" zone. Also, Xaldin wins this round because the feisty lady that HE found was not married, unlike with Xigbar. Even if his chica ended up running away screaming.

Later on, Xigbar and Xaldin... get more drunk and have more heart-to-hearts (except... not... really...) and plot discussion. This thread is highly recommended for those of you viewers that seem bound and determined to see them as villains.

On that note, enter the so-called-hero of this little tableau, who runs into the II and III of the Organization. Please take note, gentle readers, who drew their weapon first.

Inside the bar once more, Demyx has returned to Axel's normal spot by the fire to sit. So far his visitors number in the gentle Mia Ausa who is on the fast track to finding out some unsavory things about those she'd call 'friend', and Xaldin stops by to give Demyx a potion and have a strangely gentle moment with the other Nobody.

Having consumed not only the proverbial hair of the dog but likely the whole dog at this point, as they're inside and hanging from the rafters, our dynamic duo start their quest to get everyone drunk on Atlantean without really telling them what they're getting into. Is this a new Rickroll? A tasty tasty Rickroll? You decide. Regardless, former Ace Attorney earns much cool points by way of the Organization from stating that he "...always knew [Mickey Mouse] was trouble." You're good people, Phoenix.

Everything else is To Be Continued, baby.
