It's been forever.

Yeah. It's been forever since I updated. This is probably a reason I deleted my original journal--I got to a point where I never updated. I said I wouldn't neglect this again, but alas, it appears I have. :p

I just finished my semester in school. It's been CRAZY. And I feel like I've had no life in the meantime. I worked my ass off this semester. I stopped procrastinating (unless you count that one essay I did that I skipped a review session in other class one morning to write...) and I actually read (mostly) each chapter of my books when it was assigned. I stayed on top of my work, and while I pretty much never got to see friends very much, I did spend a lot of time with my family (which is more important to me anyway) and I feel very good about the work I accomplished this year. Although, as hard as I tried, I still don't think I managed to pull an A off in my Biology class. >.< I could never get an A in that class--in middle school, in high school, now.

I also took another English class, Research Writing, and while writing the essays could be a pain, this was easily my favorite class of the semester. My teacher got on so many rants each class that rarely seemed to have anything to do with what we were supposed to be learning, but I learned more from that class than probably any other class I've taken--with the exception of Psychology, because that's my major and I usually retain most of that information. In every day conversation, I find myself spouting off some random fact and it's usually something I learned in this class. I also really enjoyed the papers we had to write and I think I wrote some of my best work for him. We had to write an observation paper (stake out somewhere, find someone interesting, and write about their interactions with their surroundings), a research paper--I wrote about internet addiction and ended up with a 98% on the final draft--woohoo! :p, a self-experiment paper where we had to quit something we were "addicted" to (I quit Twitter since my use had become a problem. But, I'm back now- so follow me: @musicormisery21 :)), and a song-analysis paper. All really fun assignments.

My other classes weren't as interesting. Of course, Biology I struggled through a LOT. But I took it with a friend and ended up making a few more so we tried to have fun in the 3-hour class and lab as much as we could. Then there was Ethics, a Philosophy/Religion class, which I felt like shooting myself in the face everytime I went to the class. My teacher was nice enough, but not really a great one. She was like 70 years old, repeated herself more than was necessary, talked in circles, and was overall really boring. She tried, though. I'll give her that. I actually skipped this class as much as I could. Whenever we had tests, she gave us study guides with exactly what would be on the test, so even though I missed class, I still ended up with 100%s on all of the quizzes and such, so as far as she was concerned, I was learning something. Then there was my Psychology class--Human Development Across The Lifespan. People in this class were extremely frustrating and extreme know-it-alls, but again, I had a friend in the class and we made friends with people who sat around us, so mostly we tried to make it as fun as we could.

Overall, so glad the semester is over. :) Feels like I can breathe again! But this semester was definitely the best semester I've had in college thus far. So, I'll miss it in some ways. Met and made friends with some really great people and I hope we all can stay in contact. Thank God for Facebook! :p Next semester I have lined up: Astronomy, Social Problems, Human Relations, and Popular Music of the US. I'll probably be able to graduate in the Fall of next year, but I may end up going 'til Spring since I have a scholarship that'll cover me until then. After this, I have no idea where I want to go. I really want to go to University of California, San Diego- but I just don't know. They have a Cognitive Development program I'm really interested in, but I don't even know what I want to do with my Psychology degree. It changes each semester. It was research, then addiction specialist, and before college it was forensics and criminal profiling--and I think it may be back to that now, lol.

Have a break until January 24th, I think is when Spring Semester starts. So, making the best of this winter break! Especially since when next semester starts, I'll be working part-time as well. I like my schedule, though. My classes are nice and spread out so I'll have plenty of time to do my work, and I'll only work on Saturdays--and making some really decent money doing so. :D lol. Also planning to make up for lost time with friends! Already have tons of dinner dates planned. :p And in January, from the 6th til 13th, I'll be in VEGAS! I love me some Vegas. I'd go to school there if my mom didn't hate Vegas so much. Staying at the Luxor this time around. (I'd tell you the reason was for Criss Angel, but that'd just seem creepy, now wouldn't it?:p) Plus, Criss Angel isn't even going to be performing his show when we're in town. :/ Freaking sucks! Really bummed. At least there's tons of other reasons to love Vegas. Plus, I saw his show back in May, and I'll be going again in February of 2011 to celebrate my 21st birthday. While in Vegas, my dad and I are going to take a road-trip up to San Diego and check out the campus. :)

What else has been up? Well, this semester was also extra hard because my mom had a nervous breakdown. Well, they don't call them nervous breakdowns anymore, rather a "Major Depressive Episode." That was rough. She had one when I was 8, but I was too young to really understand it. This time around, it was pretty much up to me to take care of her, as well as things around the house, and my own stuff. Another reason the semester was extremely hard on me and why I didn't get much free time. She was out of work... starting mid-October, I think? Up until last week. And now she's only working 2 days a week. Been rough, but it's starting to get back to normal.

The BEST thing about this semester? Other than my English class (lol), I went to one of my favorite venues, the Electric Factory, in Philadelphia and saw Boys Like Girls. Well, it was their tour, but I went solely to see Cobra Starship! (When the heck will I ever get to see them on their own tour? The other two times I've seen them was when they've been with Fall Out Boy.) Before the show, Alex (the bass player) was walking around the venue, so we got to meet him. And then we got to get into the venue early, because-oh YEAH. We got meet and greet through fanclub presales! :) It was SO much fun and I was so worried about either being a complete ass and completely obnoxious or super shy in front of them. Neither one was true! I was able to be myself and they made it so easy. My main goal was to talk to everyone of them and not favor Gabe (that hottie!), but when I walked up to them, Gabe made it so easy to talk to him. I got in a conversation with him, Alex, and Ryland, so I didn't get to talk with Nate or Vicky and I felt kinda bad about that, but like I said--it was just really easy to talk to them.

They were SUPER SUPER sweet. It was so chill and laid back (plus, the dude running the m&g was really sweet, as well) that my friend completely forgot to get Gabe to sign her shirt. So, after the m&g, we got to go in the venue and we got right up front, and while we waited-the m&g was like, over to the side, so we could watch them as the m&g was still going on. So, Gabe turned to smile at us and she was quickly like: "I forgot to get you to sign my shirt!" So he called her over and signed her shirt real quick. Again, SUPER sweet. :) And then their set was amazing. Short, but fun. Gabe pointed to us a few times, as did Ryland. He threw a glowstick out to us, and my friend and I had it- but she took it. But then he threw a pick to us, and she caught that and gave my the glowstick bracelet thing. :) We left during Boys Like Girls and waited outside to see if we could meet any of Cobra again. The only one who came out was Ryland because Gabe left to go DJ somewhere. But, next to Gabe, Ryland's my fave anyway. :p Awesome night. <3

Other than that, I saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra for a fourth year in a row. We were, like, pretty much directly next to the stage, so it was a cool perspective. Our section was dead, though. No one cheered, no one clapped, no one did ANYTHING. It was so odd. So, I'd clap and cheer or whatever and I'd get looks from the band members. So, HAH! lol.

Oh yeah! I can't update without mentioning my latest obsession! Criminal Minds! <3 And, more specifically, Matthew Gray Gubler. :p I've watched Criminal Minds since the beginning in... '04/'05, I believe? It's always been one of my favorite shows. But, this season! OMG! It is seriously kicking House's butt! House is great... but it's just lacking something it's had for the past 5 seasons. Maybe it's the Vicodin. lol. The first episode of this season was great and different, but since then, it's just not doing it for me. I'm liking it and all, but it's just not leaving me going "OMG! Such a good show!" at the end of each episode. But Criminal Minds on the other hand, DOES NOT disappoint! Every episode is amazing. The storyline, the actors, the writing... everything is just great. And MGG, aka Dr. Spencer Reid, is adorkable. Plus, like last year when House was on all the time on every single channel it seemed, Criminal Minds is on every single all the time this year. :p The episodes never get old. And yeah, it's just really kicking some House butt.

And, this cutie. lol. (All sarcasm, by the way.)

"That's one thing my kindergarden teacher used to say about me--that kid knows a racist when he sees one!" :p

I'll try to update now that I'm done school. That is, unless my life is extremely boring. :D Like, what am I about to do now? I'm either going to clean my bathroom or make some snickerdoodle cookies. Oh yeah- so exciting!
