If you don't like the weather in East TN/Southwest VA...wait a minute

Having survived two tornado watches and one warning last week, we thought we'd start this week off with...SNOW! Actually we have very little here, but Lebanon Va, which had a tornado early Sat, now has 4 inches of snow to make the clean-up effort a little more interesting. March is always nutty here. The biggest snows we've had in the past 20 years (18 inches in 1993; 12 inches in 1998) have been in March. And since we had such a mild winter, we are all looking at March to see see if Old Man Winter will have his revenge.

In other news, my mother is playing martyr to the point where Joan of Arc is not even in the running. This is due in large part to my sister's constant whining about doing errands for her. And of course, both call me and go on AND on about it. In fact, one day Bill kidnapped my phone and wouldn't let me take any calls except from Kimmy.  What a guy!

And now for our home-improvement section: We have bought lumber and equipment to rebuild our front porch.  It will be wider, longer,  and covered.  Also, the tin will be delivered for our new roof on Friday.  Bill is off next week hope to finish both products.  I will be very happy if both get done, but the roof is the more important task.  He has friends that are coming to help, so that will move things along.  Next project will be getting more gravel for the driveway.  Slowly but surely.....:D
