Of course I am disappointed in the election results. I am concerned that America is slouching toward Babylon, to borrow a phrase, and that Babylon is socialism. I am putting my faith in the fact that in four years America will realize that. In the meantime, I will conduct business as usual the best that I can. Last night I prayed, sincerely, for Obama -- that God be in the midst of his Presidency. That is the best I can do.
I am not ignorant of the history being made. I am proud of the fact that America has come so far in her quest for equality for all that she can elect a Black president....I just wish it had been Alan Keyes. Seriously, though, history IS being made, and I am glad that I could see it in my lifetime. My mother, who can remember segregated schools and drinking fountains in Kingsport, is also glad that America has come this far.
I'm going to try to limit snarky comments about Obama, esp. if a scandal breaks, or he takes a fall for some comment he says or decision he makes. If I do comment, I will try to do so in an intelligent manner, not an "I told you so" or "He is the Anti-Christ!" way. I've had to read sometimes vicious attacks on Bush for years now: he's stupid; he's power hungry; he profits from the war; etc. ad nauseum. I'll try to spare you that about Obama. In fact, Obama is articulate, intelligent, and quite persuasive. I just don't agree with 89% of what he says (I took a survey and that was the result).
I think Tiny Tim said it best: God bless us, everyone.
