Took the bike today on the bus and I sure put it to use. After work I rode to my kayak class which was only 6 minutes away from work. I actually beat my coworker to class who left the office before me. The amazing power of the bike at work. After the class I consulted my bus schedule. To my disappointment my ride back home had left three minutes ago. The next bus was scheduled to arrive in an hour and a half. Add on top of that an hour bus ride. Then a ten minute walk on top of that. So.... I rode my bike an hour and a half in the dark back home. Luckily I was smart enough to grab my headlight before running out the door this morning. Living without a car takes planning ahead, but you can make the system work for you. 40 minutes after I got home the skies opened up, so if I had decided to wait for the bus I probably would have gotten rained on. The bike allowed me to arrive home at least an hour earlier than the bus.
