After reading most of the h/d big bang fics (and it's taken me quite awhile to get through them) I was amazed at just how good they all were. My hat is off to all of those who posted those wonderful stories! You all deserve much love. I have to rec a few that really stood out for me and deserve tons of reads! I'll rec two here and two in another post. Go, read and leave them some love.

Miles to Go Before I SleepAuthor:

Warnings: Background domestic violence, background slave treatment, violence
Summary: When Pansy comes to Draco nearly three years after the war to ask for his help with none other than an abused and fragile Harry Potter, what could he do but say yes? After all, he had been in love with Harry since they were eleven.
Why I loved it: I don't hardly know where to start! It grabbed me from the first page because I loved the writing style. I love writing that is so lovely that it resembles prose or even poetry and this was all of that and more. I was mesmerized by the beauty of Draco's stream-of-consciousness throughout the fic. The plot was a serious one and I never lost sight of that, but it was wrapped in some of the most beautiful writing I've read in a long time. I loved the depth of the character development in the major and minor characters. Draco was deep, intelligent, witty and amazingly introspective. Harry was damaged, but powerful, brave and caring. This is just one gorgeous fic from beginning to end. There's some lovely artwork in it too by

(Open Up) and BreatheAuthor:
talekaylerRating: NC-17
Word Count: 84,189
Warnings: Character Death (not Harry or Draco), Violence
Summary: Harry Potter wasn't reintroduced to the wizarding world when he was eleven. When they find him, nine years later then they should have, things are much different.
Why I loved it: This fic was a pleasure to read both for the writing style and the interesting plot. Harry was not a Hogwarts student and becomes acquainted with Draco post-Hogwarts. That and Harry's unique way of 'seeing' things make for some challenging situations. I love the smooth flow and originality in the plotting, as well as the depth-of-character in Harry and Draco. The writing was beautiful and so was the artwork by
