HD Storyroom Recs!

Oct 14, 2015 22:02

Here are two recs for the second week of October. This month has been really busy for me and it isn't over yet! I haven't been able to follow all of the fests and recs as closely as I would have liked. These are two fics that I really loved. With Rectober in full-swing, it's hard to come up with new stuff that isn't being rec'd, especially since I rely on recs for much of my reading, but I just loved these two fics, as they were both really fun reads.

Title:Somebody to Love
Author: khasael
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 31,400
Warnings: None
Summary: Draco's life after the war is quite different than it used to be. When he finds himself cursed, with little hope for lifting the spell, he sets out to make the most of the time he has left. Getting to know his Aunt Andromeda and his young cousin Teddy feels like a good thing to do, even if it can't help him in the long run...or can it?
Why I loved it: I adore it in fics when Draco gets to know his aunt Andromeda and his cousin Teddy! There is just something so cool about seeing him reach out to the remnants of his tattered family. Getting to know Harry with the family backdrop just gives me all the feels. Draco was tragic and beautifully done. I loved Harry in this and their budding relationship. Just a lovely fic!

Title:One Night at the Leaky
Author: Anonymous
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 12,439
Warnings: None
Summary: Harry should have known better than to accept a drunken dare. Especially when Malfoy was sitting right there, looking like that and wearing those bloody tight trousers.
Why I loved it: Drinking games at the Leaky! I love this fic! It was just so much fun! Those were some wicked dares! Poor Harry! But OMG, Draco was relentless! How could Harry resist? I could just read this over and over! (Excpet that gawd-awful drink! Ewww!!) If you haven't read it, what are you waiting for?
