home again, home again, jiggity jig

Okay...finally home for good. Kristen and I got back last night from our 12-day whirlwind tour of our favorite northeast locations - Vermont and the Cape (and my parents' new house). I'm sorry we didn't get to Boston, T and Sharon - we thought we might call and see if you could have dinner, but we dallied too long in Northampton and had to rush to the cape to get our campsite set up before dark. Plus, we figured we'll see you in November, and we'll come to Boston just to see you other times, too :) Anyway, we put 2700 miles on the car, and generally had a great time doing things we don't ordinarily do, like tubing and berry-picking...and now I'm totally in denial as to the fact that school starts in 5 days. Bleah. Fortunately, Mary got here this morning and is visiting for a few days (but is now napping), so I can stay in vacation mode for as long as possible...I bought milk for the first time since May today, though, so the signs of permanence and routine are creeping in already. Oh, well...

Oh - we also saw the Magic Hat brewery on our trip, which was particularly fantastic because of the unlimited free samples, and also because of its general funness. Plus, the tour guide was cute - she kind of reminded me of Whitney Retallic, actually. Truly a great place...

So, I hope everyone's doing well, now that we're all back from our summer travels...I think what I'm really having trouble with is joining the real adult/no summer world in a few days. It's so hard to give up...maybe I'll just marry someone wealthy and teach grade school for the rest of my life. At the very least, we should all find a week some summer to rent a beach house together - a little beach reunion of only people we like. Just a thought...
