the wau wau sisters
has anyone ever heard of them? we saw them last night with the butchies, and they were absolutely hilarious - kind of like liz phair's circus cousins or something. they had matching costumes, although they seemed to like to go around in their bras and panties a lot, their songs were in the liz phair ilk but less dark, and at the end, they did this amazing trapeze act, which helped to explain why they seemed awfully built for singer-songwriters. they were incredible - it was like an old-time variety act, but very up to date. they're from brooklyn, but if they come your way, i'd check them out - the trapeze thing alone is worth it
