Elizabeth the Golden Years
Watched a double feature tonight of Elizabeth and Elizabeth the Golden Years (really need a third movie). Makes a great double feature. The first movie was good but Golden Years just blew me away. I've always had a keen interst in English history and in particular of the Queens of England, so the subject matter was known to me. Sure they messed around with some time lines and events but the overall feel was bang on to me. But totally aside from the plot| the costumes, set design and especially the cinematography (inluding lighting and colour palettes) just blew me out of the water. There were times when I gasped outloud at the sheer beauty of scenes. It was like watching a moving painting. It certainly deserved all those awards! Really satisfying.
