Pictures: Greatest Show on Earth
Remember my last two shoots with Dominique? As the same time as the last one, we decided to to something a little more avant-garde. Audriana, the always-fabulous MUA, had wanted to do body paint for a while, and I had wanted to do something a bit more dark and emotive. Nique wanted to wear her tutu. I was like "OKAY :D"
Literally. That exact face.
So we ended up going for this smoky, backstage-at-a-burlesque-show kind of feel. It feels a bit intimate and voyeuristic, which I think I might love.
We all also agreed that we wanted to do Super Ridiculous Over-the-Top People, Okay! lights and color work, so Audriana whipped out her gold and purple palettes, including a Mac lipstick that is basically paint. It was a fantastic look, and Nique even had purple polka-dot panties. (We also might have played coloring book with her already-existing tattoos. It was too fun not to.) It was the first time I'd worked with such outright, lush colors. It was a challenge, but I'd gladly attempt it again.
As always, Nique was beautifully expressive.

I used to hate the Mardi-Gras-reminiscent combination of purple and gold, but I think it was more the shades than anything. Here, I actually quite like it.
My favorites are 4, 10 and I'm absolutely in love with 7. Any other comments for which ones get Portfolio'd are super appreciated.
