Dear Santa,
Thanks so much for writing/vidding/arting for me! I am sure I will love whatever you come up with to bits, but in case you're the kind of person who wants more details, here they be.
First thing first, I am equally happy with any of the three requests I made, so pick whatever appeals to you and know that I will love it. A few general things about me. I am not super religious, so while holiday-themed stuff is fine, an in-depth exploration of a character's feeling about whatever religious tradition is not really my thing. Any format you want is good. Any rating is fine by me, and I'm open to gen, het, slash, threesomes, moresomes, etc.
Dislikes. I dislike that kind of humor where you laugh AT someone in a humiliating way. Things that involve humiliation tend to squick me, whether kinky or just cruel. (Other kink is totally fine though.) Partner betrayal is not something I enjoy reading, and neither is underage sex or dub/noncon. I would prefer a happy ending to an unhappy one, but I am not completely averse to fic that breaks my heart. I am not a huge fan of kids, kidfic, pregnancy, mpreg, or fics where the only life goal the characters have is to get married and have lots of babies. Um, what else? It makes me nuts when half of a pairing gets called "baby" constantly and the other half of the pairing doesn't have a similarly stupid/infantalizing nickname.
Likes. My kind-of-a-theme for the requests this year was minor characters and pre-canon back story. Rewatching with the crew for the dS birthday celebration really made me fall in love with minor characters all over again. Elaine is made of awesome and win. Welsh has always been a favorite of mine. And Sam Thorn was just SO MUCH FUN in MotB that I desperately wanted all of the fic for her after finishing the ep. Any story that celebrates/explores any these characters would be wonderful. I would also love to see some Ray K back story where he's a badass cop (I totally have a competence kink), or a terrified rookie, or just something besides Stella's husband or Fraser's partner. It's tempting to say Ray K defined himself by these relationships, but the Ray who desperately wanted to be a good cop and learn from Franklin, and the Ray who cried and apologized to Beth Botrelle, and the Ray who smirked and flirted at Volpe would disagree that those two relationships are all that Ray is.
So, yeah. I think that about covers it? I haven't written one of these before, so if this isn't helpful, please have the mods poke me and I'll get more specific. Thanks again, Santa! *smish*
