been awhile
i am still battling the lice- but luckily mostly in my dreams. i rented stranger than fiction this weekend, some six feet unders and Gas Light, suggested by k. it was good except it was probably the most scratched DVD ever and it took 3 or more hours to get through it because it stalled so much. in my wakeful hours work stress is more about co workers. learning to assert yourself is not fun, but necessary i suppose... i went out of town to a little place called Castroville in texas for memorial day. cute in that was built in the 1840s- the town turned out to be an alsatian colony... which was weird, but with good food. the place we stayed was almost like a little compound of historic buidling that used to be mills and bathhouses... would work nicely for one of those family reunions and a teeny weensy state park. i of course have inherited my fathers allergy to vacations, which is very disheartening to me and my therapist says means i need more boundaries with work... my hair is growing out and almost to the point where it is going to raise challenges to my authority... but on the other hand my face and neck don't look quite so immense when my hair is longer than 3/8th of an inch... i will work on getting some pictures of the new manifestation. my peers are now encouraging me to mohawk it... you know, when you have really short hair you realize how much tiny little shit from trees and stuff falls on you all day... summer is vastly approaching- the time when i finally get a little peace and quiet from the frats, but resent being in texas anyways. we were spoiled with a long cool spring this year, so its ruf to see that end.
the only other big news i want to report is that i now worship K as the best big sister in law ever, and very good at her job, although im still not entirely clear on what that is, but whatever it is she should get an award. of course awesome sister should also get an award because i think all i have heard about you for months is jet setting and working, it seems, even harder than normal.
so it turns out stranger than fiction is set in chicago and i didn't pick up on it through the whole movie. i must be out of touch officially. but they do try and hide it- which is lame. i liked the movie though.
i am going to try that floam recipe this week that danielmath suggested months ago, so i also offer thanks in that direction. i stopped by yet another fabric store closing sale and found the little poly..blahh blah... thene ball thingies cheap... it has nothing to do with my lesson plan but i am so exicted i can't wait!
