The Harry Potter Guide to the UK

This is cool: The Harry Potter Guide to the UK. It shows the various different filming locations used for the Potter films.

I went to Durham university, which was one of the locations (they used it just before I went there, and I always hoped they'd come back). I remember on matriculation day we were gathered there at the cathedral, a slightly nervous/hungover group of 18 year olds wearing our black robe-like gowns, and the man whose job it was to get us into position strode up to us, gown billowing in the wind, and yelled, "Welcome to Hogwarts!"

And I thought, "Yes. This is the right kind of place for me."

ETA: Mr Wand and I are going to London tomorrow (today, I suppose) as an anniversary thing. We have booked two shows (Matilda and The Book of Mormon) to go and see, and just now I mentioned to Mr Wand that I would love to go to the HP studio tours. I may have mentioned this before. A lot. As much as I disagree with a lot of the choices the films made, I love how detailed the sets and props are and I've heard great things about the tour. Anyway, Mr Wand said to go for it, so I have booked tickets! I am so excited! Mr Wand thinks it is cute that I am so thrilled. I hope he remains this tolerant when I make him drink Butterbeer with me. EEE!
