Once upon a yesterday, Hazel, me, Lydia and my mummy and daddy went out on an adventure, leaving Tim poorly in bed.
First we caught a tube train into London, and walked to the
British museum. We tried to see the Terracotta army, but it was too busy. Instead, we went to Starbucks, where Lydia and I had a hot chocolate, and everyone else had coffee.
Next , we went to the
canal museum, which was great fun. There was a boat that people lived in, in Victorian times. I would really like to live in it. A boat man told a tale of his average day on a tape, and we saw some model people. The girls wore funny hats for best. There was some pictures of people, one of them was of a girl playing shops and another was of a very little girl tied to the top of the boat to stop her falling in. We made a bridge out of wooden blocks that you could actually walk on, but when you took the middle one out it fell apart. That was fun. There was also a film that was filmed in Victorian times about what you could see if you walked outside. There was no sound so there was music and subtitles so you knew what was going on. We then walked to Camden town for lunch in a
vegetarian restaurant.
Westminster We went on a bus past Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and the lions who (thankfully) didn't roar, the Big Ben clock tower and Festival Hall. We would have gone on the London Eye, except it was raining and too busy. Instead we went on a boat cruise on the River Thames, under London bridge (which didn't fall down) and Tower bridge where we got off. We went past the tower of London (not in) and walked to the railway station and home on a train.
All that in one day! We were exhausted.

Shopping Once upon a today, Hazel, Tim, me, Lydia and my mummy and daddy went to another sort of country called
Bekonscot model village. It wasn't really one village, but lots of little villages in one kind of model country, called Bekonscot.
First, there was a model zoo. There was an elephant, and if you were small enough you could ride her for about 2d. She was called Clara, and there was already someone riding her. There was also a chimps’ tea party, which was quite funny. There were more than just chimps- humans as well! Some trains. There was also a Nunnery with a few nuns standing outside. Next there was a college and some people standing outside it; one of them was wearing a mortarboard. They were all looking very smart and the garden was beautiful. There was a wedding, a funeral and a church service in the separate churches, and in one of them the Boys Brigade and the Girls Brigade were doing something outside. More trains. The Brownies were there as well, Maypole dancing. I quite liked the police station because there was a string hanging out of one of the jail windows so it looked like someone had escaped from jail, but my favourite was the house on fire with smoke coming out of a hole in the roof. Some of the names were pretty bad-like Ura Peach the fruit company and Justin Tyme the clock maker. It took me a while to work out Shoowse the chemist, but it did twig. Yet more trains. I did a quiz which led me round the Tudor show house, the sheepdog trials the Cable car ride and showed me trains(yes this does include more trains!) What a fantastic day. Home for tea. Tired .

Queue Once upon a tomorrow, no that is not right, well another day. Dragged out of bed by, mummy and daddy at quarter to 6 in the morning and made to walk to the station with Hazel Tim and Lydia, all this before breakfast! We were off to London to try and see the Terracotta Army.
First we had breakfast on the train (yummy). We went to the British Museum to find a very long queue it was only half past 7. Daddy mummy and I went off to get a coffee or hot chocolate for everyone. Waited, waited waited moved a little, waited some more. The queue was so long daddy took a photo of it. Inside at last but still waiting. At last we got to the front of the queue tickets bought hurray! We went and explored the museum. At about 11 we were all hungry for lunch went and found a veggie wholemeal shop for lunch (deeelicious). Back to the museum to see the army. It was amazing! Hazel got me a trail to do which was really good. Before the first emperor they had at least 3 different types of coin, but the first emperor made them use only 1. They showed us what the warriors would have looked like when they were first buried. It was hot in the exhibition!
