So the year in France has gone and I'm back in England for good. Loads of people have degrees and are graduating and it's gone so fast! Congratulations to everyone who has achieved their degree!
I had a really fun time camping with Lee and Keeley. It all went really well from the 1st day. As we were travelling to Ribeauville which is where we camped, we met this girl on the train and me and keeley started chatting to her in French. It turned out she was going to visit her grandparents in Ribeauville and they had a pool... to cut a long story short we ended up swimming in their pool then having a barbecue with their whole family! And me and Keeley could both manage to chat in French to them and translate for Lee - guess I must be approaching fluent now :) Then they kindly gave us a lift to the campsite, which turned out to be 5 km from the train station and no buses ran there.
We proceded to have a lovely week, climbing up and dopwn mountains and going for a trek through forests. And of course much wine tasting - they don't get you to spit it out in the Alsace region and they just keep offering you more and more! I think their tactic is to get you drunk so you buy some ! (needless to say I did lol). We also took a bottle of wine uup to the top of a mountain - 900m up and drank it looking down at the valley. It was warm the whole time and there were only 2 thunderstorms and we managed to get inside for them. It was a fantastic end to the year in France. Ooh we also did the experiment with diet coke and mentos and it worked very well. If you don't know what I mean, try putting mentos in diet coke and see what happens.
We came back on the Thursday and then fell asleep for a bit (not much sleep got that hol lol) Then me and Lee went out for a meal - tarte flambees fo course, which it turned out they had a special offer on. I had been planning on taking my dad out for a meal too, but he didn't let me know what time he was coming and we were hungry. So typically he phoned halfway through the meal and we had to rush to finish. So we went to meet him and then had to take him out somewhere else to eat. This is the point where I could be rude about the conversation, but refraining.
I took Lee to the airport bus at 7.15 am the next morning. Then after the cleaning lady decided not to give me my £150 deposit back because of marks on the inside of the wardrobe!! Which I had NOT made grr, we headed off. Journey was going relatively ok till we got lost at Dunkerque and managed to miss the ferry, which meant waiting 2 hours for the next one. Then we managed to get lost going onto the M25 and didn't get home till just before midnight. Very tired lol.
But home now, come back to a beautifully newly decorated room - looks a lot lighter. Took me ages to unpack, but that was partly because I went to Upton jazz festival yesterday to watch my sister play and I watched her today at Bromsgrove Park. They are a jazz band and are very good, I know David would have enjoyed watching.
So now just doing some preparation for eversheds tomorrow. I don't really feel ready for it, but I will do my best.
So time to stop the rambling maybe I'll see how dinner's coming along...yum yum 1st roast chicken in 2 months.
