anyway, this is the sekrit projekt i was working on last month! I didn't wanna post it here till the calendar page was posted in case anyone looked here or dA first and said "meh, I'll pass on next month's calendar page, the picture's not worth the download." ^^;
I flirted briefly with the idea of submitting a photo of the kids for the calendar, but I was also aware that quite a few people are freaked out by BJDs. I know there's at least one in ichi_ruki, who very kindly said that mine were the only ones who haven't freaked her out, but... still. Didn't wanna traumatize. So I got the kids to pose for me instead.:3 yup, I'm pretty happy with it. I even signed it!XD
And drawing it was interesting because... well... I have no dedicated horizontal space in my room for doing art, so the thing was balanced on my lap the whole time I was sketching and coloring. except for the bits that I did on the computer, which was very little, because I consciously chose to use traditional media so the colors would come out correctly... and as it happens, it still came out a LOT lighter than my original.XD I hope it prints out OK.
I did want to put in sakura! but May is too late in the year for sakura. Think of it as a Midori no Hi celebration instead.
and yes, that butterfly is the same one that's in my tattoo.:3
