Went to a gig last night where some slacker muso type was headlining. Met lovely new people, hung out with old ones, good atmosphere, good music, good times. Got a CD from one of the other bands..... but appear to have accidentally taken two. Oh, dear. *guilty*
Anyway.... After watching a trailer for the not-at-all-paranoia-inducing
Right At Your Door, I got sucked into reading movie sites.
The X-Files movie definitely looks a go as Gillian Anderson
reportedly quits another movie to star in it.
A
G.I. Joe movie? Why? What's next? Live action Barbie? A trailer is already forming in my mind for a self-consciously 'ironic' rom-com.
Along similar lines, something I saw that I thought might interest
cellardoor28 and
despotliz - a real-life Disney animation of sorts -
Enchanted. It actually looks like fun, although am baffled by the use of Tarzan and suchlike in the trailer, instead of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
I probably have already mentioned it, and it's technically old news now, but Scarlett Johansson
is to play Mary, Queen of Scots. Um, yeah. Also, I keep seeing mention of an actors' strike in Hollywood next year. Anyone know any more about this?
I see that
Jamie Foxx is to star as a homeless violin prodigy with schizophrenia. Frankly, I like the sound of this one, as I always like the sound of violin prodigy films, whether or not they are good . However, I have only seen Mr Foxx in
Dreamgirls, where he failed to dazzle. Anyone seen him in something else, where he was actually good?
Leonardo DiCaprio is probably miscast in the upcoming
Revolutionary Road, but he makes up for it with a pro-active environmental movie -
The 11th Hour.
